Summer 2006
Sean Street's new sequence of poems, The Broadcast, based on his time in Newfoundland during 2004, has just been published in the literary journal, Scintilla.
Poet and editor Anne Cluysenaar writes of the sequence: "I found myself reading The Broadcast as a realistic and moving metaphor for the role language plays in the world at large, and in particular for the role poetic language can play in survival...It's a very fine piece - I love its depth, precision and reach."
There comes a time when Time stops
and walls are no longer relevant,
when in one flash we step
from these tiny cramped days
into vast pearl light spreading
across an enormous room,
no walls visible.
